A very quick perusal of Control The Moment’s pedigree shows us that he possesses close up male doubles of No Nukes at 3x4 and Abercrombie at 4x3 hence being well-placed genetically to mesh well with mares’ carrying female lines of these two illustrious forebears for good results.

Control The Moment’s pedigree is also solidly under-pinned by favourable sex-balanced linebreeding to Albatross at 4x5x5x4x5 hence he is able to offer sex-balance to any mares’ carrying single lines only of this very influential son of Meadow Skipper.

As a direct maternal descendant of the “Queen of Gait” in Golden Miss ( his 6th dam ) Control The Moment is also beautifully set up genetically to thrive on those mares also containing her influence through varying daughters and grand-daughters of which there are many. This creates the opportunity to return the same blood from your mare to Control The Moment’s direct maternal ( tail female ) bloodlines. It is also a widely recognised formula in the quest for speed enhancement and is a breeding practice than has also been widely adopted in thoroughbred breeding circles. Golden Miss’s legacy includes the likes of Malaysia ( rare but found in Racing Hill ), Shifting Sands, Shifting Scene, Proven Perfect and Whispering Sands ( all of whom feature in a plethora of sires and sirelines whilst her brilliant son Strike Out should not be over-looked for sex-balancing when constructing a pedigree.

A half-sister to Golden Miss in Winifred also features in the direct maternal pedigree of Four Starzzz Shark.

Control The Moment’s sire is the very precocious Well Said, a fabulous juvenile racehorse himself and a stallion that has passed on his own traits and attributes to his progeny not only including precocity but also excellent type especially if looking to breed a Sales product.

His dam Lifesliltreasure is by Life Sign ( a stamina based son of Abercrombie ) therefore offering breeders another linebreeding opportunity through returning additional lines of Adora and daughter K Nora to whom Life Sign is tail female.

With the presences of Jate Lobell and Sonsam as his next two damsires the heat is well and truly turned up again in terms of precocity, sublime gait and high speed and in particular, mares carrying male lines of these two forebears should do exceptionally well in a mating with Control The Moment.

As another Western Hanover sireline stallion, Control The Moment is also well-equipped genetically to produce successful results with mares’ carrying the three other popular contemporary sirelines in Abercrombie ( including son Artsplace ), Cam Fella and Direct Scooter but also not at the exclusion of more traditional or even outcrossed bloodlines which can surprise by producing a superior racetrack performer.

The Western Hanover sireline which Control The Moment represents typically delivers well-recognised traits and attributes such as natural athleticism, early maturity and generally good inherent gait.

Other sirelines such as those mentioned above can either enhance or complement these traits and attributes making for a more rounded individual in your breeding endeavors.

The Abercrombie sireline adds stamina, gait and soundness characteristics and through Artsplace unrelenting stamina.

It should therefore come as no surprise that Control The Moment, who is himself bred on this very Western Hanover / Abercrombie cross, is easily Well Said’s highest earning and best performed son with earnings well in advance of Well Said’s next best performers Lost For Words ( out of a mare by Real Desire, also an Abercrombie-line stallion ) and My Hero Ron ( out of a mare by Cam’s Card Shark, a Cam Fella-line stallion ).

The Cam Fella sireline instills depths of stamina and toughness, Cam Fella being accorded the status of the greatest stamina horse ever seen in North America.

This is blood not present in Control The Moment so should be well-received by him.

Cam Fella line mares’ are prolific and include the likes of Armbro Operative, Artistic Fella, Betterthancheddar, Bettor’s Delight, Blissfull Hall, Brioso Hanover, Cameleon, Cammibest, Camtastic, Caribbean Blaster, E Dee’s Cam, Exotic Earl, Fake Left, Four Starzzz Shark, Gold Ace, Highview Tommy, Lislea, Lis Mara, Million Dollar Cam, Pacific Fella, Precious Bunny, Presidential Ball, Riverboat King, Roll With Joe, Safari, Shadyshark Hanover, Shark Gesture, Village Jolt and Washington VC et al.

The Direct Scooter sireline should also work well for Control The Moment being devoid of the prolific influences of Meadow Skipper. This injects welcome hybrid vigour but more importantly it brings with it the highly desirable enhanced gait characteristics offering the benefits of greater fluency of pacing action. This in turn has resulted in conservation of energy and an ability to display higher levels of speed and to sustain such speed over greater distance. The pioneering deeds of In The Pocket and Matt’s Scooter have been carried on through their respective sons the likes of Christian Cullen and Mach Three and all have played a significant part in revolutionising race times and advancing speed in the breed over the last two decades in the Southern Hemisphere.

Any mares carrying female only lines of Direct Scooter should also work to good effect with Control The Moment as these will present a sex-balance for Control The Moment’s male only line of Direct Scooter via Matt’s Scooter.

Taking things a step further, Control The Moment also has a female only line of Matt’s Scooter so should be very receptive to mares’ with male lines of Matt’s Scooter e.g. mares by Mach Three etc.

We touched previously on Control The Moment’s strong linebreeding to Albatross.

This should see him work well with mares’ with more traditional ( or Meadow Skipper laden ) pedigrees or those mares’ sporting strong colonial influences where in the case of the latter in particular Meadow Skipper lines act as a stepping stone in upgrading pedigrees.

And we know from experience Albatross line mares cross well with stallions from the Western Hanover sireline. A good deal of the reason for this can be attributed to the special affinity between Albatross and Most Happy Fella with the former providing speed and gait attributes whilst the latter contributes complementary stamina and toughness qualities. In a nutshell, the Western Hanover sireline emanates through Most Happy Fella.

Albatross line stallions include Butler BG, Holmes Hanover, Soky’s Atom, Talk About Class, Tompkins Hanover, Torado Hanover, Vance Hanover and Vanston Hanover et al.

The highly outcrossed Falcon Seelster line mares have crossed with a wide variety of sirelines such is their versatility.

It is worth noting that the earlier maturity of the Western Hanover sireline, Well Said being a prime example, should greatly benefit the generally slower maturing Falcon Seelster line.

Falcon Seelster line stallions include the likes of Attorney General, Elsu, McArdle, Million To One, Rich And Spoilt, Sealed N Delivered, The Falcon Strike, Tintin In America and Trump Casino et al. 

Crossing No Nukes and Western Hanover sireline mares with a stallion from the same sireline is growing in acceptance as well as results.

We only have to look at multiple New Zealand Cup winner and now sire Terror To Love as a prime example

No Nukes or Western Hanover line stallions include Allamerican Ingot, Badlands Hanover, Barnett Hanover, Caprock, If I Can Dream, Jereme’s Jet, Kinney Hanover, Live Or Die, Northern Lights, Panspacificflight, P Forty Seven, Ponder, Red River Hanover, Righteous Hanover, Rustler Hanover, Safely Kept, Shadow Play, Ticket To Heaven, Union Guy, Village Jasper, Western Terror and We Will See et al.

In similar fashion, daughters of the sons of Western Ideal such as Always A Virgin, American Ideal, Artspeak, Big Jim, Dawn Ofa New Day, Heston Blue Chip, He’s Watching, and Vintage Master should also work to good effect with the bloodlines of Control The Moment.

With his male-only line of Western Hanover, Control The Moment should also be very receptive to mares’ carrying a female line of Western Hanover for sex-balancing purposes. Mares by Shark Gesture come to the fore here as will in the future mares by Betting Line and Huntsville et al.

Female linebreeding opportunities abound in the pedigree of Control The Moment with the likes of Wendymae Hanover/Wendy Sue Hanover featuring tail female in his upper quartile, Three Diamonds/Ambiguity/K Nora/Adora featuring tail female in his third quartile and Shifting Scene/Shifting Sands/ Golden Miss featuring in his own direct maternal bloodline.

The Wendymae Hanover/Wendy Sue Hanover double-up will occur via any mares holding the presence of Western Hanover but moving forward mares by A Rocknroll Dance could hold special appeal through that stallion carrying the likes of Wichita Hanover, a half-sister to Western Hanover.

The Adora/K Nora presence features in many stallions and is represented most strongly through Ambiguity and Angel Hair into two highly influential mares featuring in pedigrees today i.e. Three Diamonds and Leah Almahurst. These two outstanding bluehens are very closely related having K Nora feature as their 2nd and 3rd dam respectively.

Any mare holding the presence of Western Ideal  immediately appeals here as do those featuring the likes  of American Ideal or his sons the likes of He’s Watching and Heston Blue Chip being ones to suit in the future whilst Life Sign and his sons also come into play here whilst others such as Real Desire may hold links through their maternal bloodlines.

As mentioned above, returning the blood of the “Queen Of Gait” Golden Miss and her daughters, grand-daughters and beyond from your mare could perhaps yield the most effective outcomes of all as these presences are returned directly to Control The Moment’s direct maternal ( tail female ) bloodlines.

This breeding practice is both well-recognised and well-practised in both thoroughbred and standardbred breeding circles as an effective formula for speed enhancement.

Some stallions with members of the Golden Miss family include Grinfromeartoear, Panorama, Safely Kept, Rocknroll Hanover, Rustler Hanover, Righteous Hanover, Red River Hanover, Mystical Prince, J R Mint, Americas Pastime, Smiling Shard, Mister Big, Mr Feelgood, whilst in the future the likes of Racing Hill and Sunshine Beach can also be included.
